A basketball court, tennis court, childrens playground and picnic area, including public restroom facilities are located within the Gerald T. Parmeter Memorial Park.  Future plans include the Cazadero History Learning Center.

The vision for the Cazadero History Learning Center (CHLC) is to provide a venue to present, interpret, protect, and preserve the history of the Austin canyon.  The CHLC will help to engage the community and visitors alike in a meaningful, educational, and collaborative manner.

The planned landscape provides a large-scale static exhibit space along with outdoor furniture used for social gathering, picnicking, and community events. The anchor structure will be a half scale railroad depot accurately replicated complete with signal boards, crossing lamp, and 100 feet of rail. The depot will house period furniture and artifacts typically found inside or about a train station, along with an electronic display to present various collections of historic imagery.  Cazadero was the terminus of the Northwestern Pacific narrow and standard gauge railroad and holds an important legacy of Bay Area rail history.

Other planned exhibits include logging and sawmill display, indigenous peoples, forestry and dendrology of the region, farms and ranches and animal husbandry. The site of the CHLC is historically significant as once a campsite for the Kashia band of Pomo Indians. The project is supported by the Russian River and Cazadero Historical Societies.
